TDLC is a PEANUT FREE and TREE NUT FREE ENVIRONMENT
Please do not send food that contains or is made with peanuts, peanut butter, or tree nuts to school. We may have children with life-threatening allergies.
Breakfast
TDLC does not provide breakfast for your child. In the preschool center, children who arrive before 8:00am may bring a well balanced breakfast to eat in the child’s classroom. Please provide your own utensils, cups etc. After 8:00am the classrooms will begin their daily activities and cannot focus on children who still need to eat their breakfast. In the infant classroom, breakfast is served according to the infants' needs.
Lunchtime
Please be advised of your child’s scheduled lunch time 11:30am, 12:00pm, or 12:30pm, depending on your child’s class. Lunch will only be served during that time. If you bring your child after lunch, it is your responsibility to have already fed them. Parents are required to provide your child with a well balanced nutritious lunch. NO SODA OR CANDY WILL BE SERVED FOR LUNCH. Please provide a fully cooked or prepared lunch. The classrooms are equipped to warm up foods that take less than a minute. We do not cook microwave meals, or prepare foods for your child’s lunch. Please bring your child’s lunch in an appropriate container with an icepack to keep it cool.
Parents with children in the pre-school/kindergarten center are asked to label their child’s containers (no glass please) and all belongings with their child’s name.
Parents with children in the infant/toddler center are asked to label their child’s bottles, dishes and containers for food with the child’s name and the current date.
This is in accordance of Community Care Licensing CCL 101427: “Bottles, dishes, and containers of food brought by the parent shall be labeled with the child’s name and the current date.”
Snacks
TDLC provides a morning and afternoon snack that meets the CCL nutrition requirements.
If your child cannot eat a scheduled snack due to medical reasons please inform your child’s teachers. It is the responsibility of the parent to provide a substitute snack to meet the child’s special dietary needs.
Our infant and toddler center provides snack lists for parents to approve before offering a snack that’s appropriate according to the child’s development.
